VIDEO: Sevan Police Catch a Burglary Suspect at the Scene
On the evening of February 13, criminal investigators in Sevan received operational information that a burglary was occurring at a private house on Gay Street. They proceeded to the location and confirmed that the information was accurate.
It was reported that a 44-year-old man, a resident of Isakov Street in Sevan, was caught in the act of burglary and was detained by police at 11 PM. He confessed to having opened the window using technical means about 20 minutes prior and entering the house, but he did not manage to steal anything as he was caught by the police.
The man was taken to the territorial investigative department, interrogated, and arrested. Further investigations revealed that the same individual had previously broken into the same house through a first-floor window at the end of August last year and had stolen household items. The homeowner had not reported this earlier burglary.
Efforts are underway to recover the stolen items. The investigation is ongoing.
