Journalist, Analyst Tatul Hakobyan Ends Collaboration with CivilNet
The journey of Tatul Hakobyan with CivilNet and the Civilitas Foundation has come to an end after 12 years. This announcement was made by the journalist in a statement published on aniarc.am.
“My visions regarding journalism, particularly since the devastating 44-day war, and the issues concerning relationships with Armenia's neighbors (especially following this humiliating defeat) are incompatible with those of the new management of CivilNet. My dignity and the journalistic and creative right to think freely, write freely, speak freely, and express myself freely are not negotiable and should not be restricted,” Hakobyan stated.
“No media management has the right to interfere with the work of a journalist, columnist, or analyst. This is just as unacceptable, if not more so, than when the state attempts to interfere in the activities of a media outlet. I had 12 years of productive work at CivilNet/Civilitas Foundation. I leave this wonderful organization with a sense of satisfaction and pride. I wish all my colleagues, whom I had the honor and opportunity to work with, continued professional success and also family happiness,” Hakobyan wrote.
