Igor Muradyan and Vigen Shirinyan Posthumously Awarded the Highest Title of 'Hero of Artsakh'
The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Dear compatriots, the Artsakh movement can be divided into several phases in its nature and content, starting from the early decades of the twentieth century. Throughout this great struggle, we have always had devoted individuals who have led our people on the path toward achieving national goals through their examples and behavior.
Among those benefactors are the front-line fighters of the Artsakh national liberation movement, Igor Muradyan and Vigen Shirinyan. In recognition of their services to the homeland and as a testament to our commitment to the ideas and values of the Movement, I have signed decrees to posthumously award Igor Muradyan and Vigen Shirinyan with the highest title of 'Hero of Artsakh' on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the Artsakh movement.
We are grateful to all the patriots of the Artsakh movement and are obliged to continue their legacy in these challenging times.'
