Criminal Case Opened for Failure to Evacuate Cultural Values from Artsakh During War
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the failure to evacuate tangible and cultural values from Artsakh by the territorial and local self-governing bodies of the Republic of Artsakh during the recent war, causing significant property damage to the state. This information has been reported by the press service of the Artsakh Investigation Committee.
It has been noted that the proceedings have been initiated based on a report of the crime presented by the heads of non-governmental organizations on December 10, 2020. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
It should be reminded that on the morning of September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan, with the support of Turkey, launched a large-scale military attack along the entire length of the Artsakh-Azerbaijani border. On November 9, a statement was signed between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which led to the cessation of hostilities.
