Significant Amount of Gold Jewelry Stolen from Souvenir and Jewelry Store in Sisian

On February 17, 2021, around 12:55 PM, an individual committed a robbery with the intent to steal property at a souvenir and jewelry store located on G. Nzhdeh Street in the Sisian community. Using a knife as a weapon, the perpetrator applied violence dangerous to the seller's life and managed to steal a significant amount of gold jewelry from the store before fleeing.

The Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case in the Sisian investigative division of the Syunik regional investigative administration, under Article 175 (robbery) of the Criminal Code, particularly clauses 3 and 4 of the second part. An employee of the store has been recognized as the victim.

During the preliminary investigation, several investigative and procedural actions were conducted, including an examination of the crime scene, where the knife used in the crime, a mask, and traces of blood were found. Samples were taken, and recordings from the store's surveillance cameras were reviewed. A forensic examination has been ordered to clarify significant circumstances related to the case.

The investigation is ongoing. Efforts are being made to identify the presumed perpetrator, locate them, and present them to the prosecuting body. A directive has been issued to the relevant division of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

Notice: The suspect or accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, through a legally binding court decision.
