Roads Closed and Impassable in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that there are closed and difficult roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to a snowstorm, as well as the Berd-Chambarak road and the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province leading to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kharij.
The Dilijan serpentine roads are closed for truck trailers and impassable for other vehicles. The Vanadzor-Dilijan, Tashir-Privalnoye, and Spitak-Gyumri roads are also difficult, while the Spitak serpentine roads in Lori Province are impassable for trucks.
Black ice is present in patches on the Tigranashen serpentine, as well as on the roads in Shirak and Syunik provinces. In the section known as Saravan-"Zanger" (snowstorm), snow has fallen in Vayots Dzor Province, as well as in the cities of Goris and Kajaran in Syunik, and Vardenis, Chambarak, Sevan in Gegharkunik Province, and in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, and Talin in Aragatsotn Province.
Fog is present in the Spitak serpentine in Lori Province and in the city of Goris in Syunik Province.
Regarding the Lars situation, based on information received from the emergency departments of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of transport, with about 550 trucks accumulated on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
