If We Do Not Stand Against This Despicable Deal, Soon All of Syunik Will Fall Under Their Control. Surik Khachatryan

Dear residents of Syunik and my compatriots living in Yerevan,

Syunik is in danger; it is being given away piece by piece to our centuries-old enemy. Through the treacherous hands of the government, certain portions of Artsakh are being handed over to the Azerbaijanis, and if we do not stand against this despicable deal, soon all of Syunik will fall under their control.

This was stated by Surik Khachatryan, the former governor of Syunik, on his Facebook page.

“We all know that the enemy's greatest dream is to see Syunik as part of Azerbaijan. But we do not have a homeland to give to them. We are obliged to fight for our land and water, for our mountains and stones.

This government, as long as it remains, will cause us to lose pieces of our ancestors' country, it will desecrate the graves of our ancestors, and it will obliterate the essence of Armenians, especially that of the people of Syunik.

On February 20, we can turn the disgraceful page of our history. On February 20, by joining the struggle, we can prove our unity and preserve the fragments of our homeland.

Dear precious residents of Syunik living throughout Armenia, I believe you will heed my heartfelt plea and join the march for the fight at 3:00 PM on February 20, for the sake of Syunik, for the sake of our homeland, and for the sake of our fallen heroes.

My compatriots, unite, self-organize, and raise your voice for the struggle in Syunik as well. Remember, if we do not fight united against this evil, we will lose the parts of Artsakh that have escaped from the enemy, Syunik, and all of Armenia.

I urge our compatriots living in Armenia and the Diaspora to stand by the people of Syunik and not leave them alone in the fight against the Turk and traitor,” he wrote.
