Severe Blizzard Continues on Shirak Roads: Provincial Administration

A blizzard is ongoing on the roads of Shirak, as reported by the Shirak Provincial Administration.

As of February 17, 2021, at 19:30, snow is falling on all highways in the region. The severe blizzard continues. All roads of interstate, national, and regional significance are impassable.

Road service companies are actively working to clear the snow and treat the roads with salt and sand. Currently, 12 units of equipment are in operation.

On some sections of the region's roads, particularly in Lanjik, Vardaghbyur, Keti, and Jajur, snowdrifts are present, with low visibility (30-80m). Some areas also have black ice.

Drivers are advised to travel only if absolutely necessary and to use winter tires.
