Everyone Is Subject to Return: Nazeli Baghdasaryan on Meeting with Families of Captives

Nazeli Baghdasaryan, a member of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly, commented during a press briefing with reporters about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Gyumri and the meeting with families of captives.

The MP reported that efforts are being made by various government agencies to facilitate the return of captives. 'This issue is extremely sensitive, and any information related to captives in the media can be used by the adversary against us. Allow me not to comment on the meeting in any way, just to say that the parents learned today about the progress of the process,' said Nazeli Baghdasaryan, adding that the government's task is to ensure the implementation of the 8th point of the trilateral statement from November 9, which concerns the return of Armenians detained, captive, and held in Azerbaijan.

'Regardless of legal status, everyone is being returned. The Third Geneva Convention states that all individuals in an adversarial country are subject to return after the cessation of hostilities, and this is why we are working in international forums to ensure the prompt repatriation of our compatriots,' the My Step lawmaker declared.

Earlier, it was reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Gyumri for a working visit, held a consultation at the province administration, and met with the families of those captured by Azerbaijan.
