What Aircraft Did Armen Sarkissian Return to Yerevan On?
Yesterday, the presidential office issued a statement that the President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, returned to Yerevan at the end of last week. “Upon the doctors’ recommendation, the president continues his treatment in Yerevan as well,” the statement noted.
Alongside his treatment, Armen Sarkissian has also resumed his official duties, meaning he is already attending work and has signed several decrees.
In a photo that surfaced, it was observed that the president arrived in Armenia on an unfamiliar aircraft marked with blue stripes, which bore no airline insignia. The plane landed near the “presidential” entrance of Zvartnots International Airport, with the number one sticker visible on its tail.
We inquired with the presidential office about the aircraft on which Armen Sarkissian arrived in Armenia. In response, the president’s advisor, Hasmik Petrosyan, stated, “The travel and other expenses incurred by the President for his trip abroad at the end of last year and his return from treatment a few days ago have been covered by private, personal means. The president arrived in Yerevan on a private jet, which, as far as I know, belongs to one of his close friends.”
It is speculated that the aircraft belongs to British-Armenian billionaire Vache Manoukian. This information was reported by the newspaper “Hraparak.”
