VIDEO: Eruption of Mount Etna Begins on Sicily Island

The eruption of Mount Etna has commenced on the Italian island of Sicily. The footage of this natural phenomenon has been shared by user Isabella Librando on Twitter.

According to the ANSA news agency, the eruption is accompanied by the emission of volcanic ash and a flow of lava. An increase in activity was recorded by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology starting at 16:10 local time. It has been determined that the cause of the eruption was an underground tremor about three kilometers deep in the southeastern crater.
