Temporary Nature of Access Issues to Artsakh, Says Artsakh Foreign Ministry

Recent difficulties faced by citizens of various foreign countries regarding entry into the Republic of Artsakh are attributed to the imperative of enhancing security levels in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

Armenpress news agency reports, citing the head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry, Artak Nersisyan, who stated, “The access control system is being implemented in collaboration with the Russian peacekeeping forces. At the same time, it should be noted that the inconveniences related to entry will be of a temporary nature, which is also assured by the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces.”

Regarding the issue of entry permits, he stated that the procedure is clear and has not undergone any changes. Foreign nationals apply in advance to the Artsakh Foreign Ministry for entry permits, which are issued at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Artsakh in Yerevan; there is no other procedure available. Information regarding the applications for entry permits is also communicated to the Russian peacekeeping forces. The mentioned procedure does not involve any requests for agreement or data transfer to any third country,” the official explained.
