Shushi Has Been Surrendered: Serzh Sargsyan

Shushi has been surrendered; I am not saying it was done intentionally, to put it bluntly. This was stated by former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in an interview with Armnews television. "Shushi has been surrendered because I already knew when the war would end. Even after October 19, when my acquaintances and colleagues, with whom I was in touch, asked me when the war would end, I unequivocally said it would be when the Azerbaijanis capture Shushi. I am confident that sooner or later, the people I spoke with will confirm these facts. Until now, no one has talked about this," said the former president.

In response to the question of whether it was clear to him from the beginning that this had been the government's objective, Sargsyan replied, "It was clear to me based on the actions of the Azerbaijani army, based on Aliyev's statements, and based on where the Azerbaijanis were advancing and who was opposing them; I have certainly come to that conclusion."
