Video: Internet Shut Down in Myanmar as Tanks Enter Largest City
In Myanmar, amid mass protests against the military's seizure of power, tanks have been deployed in the largest city, Yangon. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
Footage has been released online showing a significant presence of military equipment on the streets of Yangon. Following orders from those orchestrating the armed coup, the internet has been cut off across the country. In one of the northern cities, Myitkyina, security forces opened fire on protesters. There are no reports of injuries.
Several journalists have been detained while filming the protests.
It is worth recalling that the armed coup in Myanmar occurred on the night of February 1.
