Turkish Military Repelled After Defeat in Iraqi Kurdistan
The Turkish military, carrying out invasion operations under the pretext of combating terrorism in the Gara region of Iraq's northern Kurdistan autonomous area, has been defeated. This information was reported by the press service of the Kurdish group "People's Defense Forces" (HPG).
According to a written statement released by HPG, Turkish military helicopters and planes conducted numerous bombings on various localities in the region on February 13-14. However, Kurdish forces showed fierce resistance to Turkey's attacks. The HPG press center reported that Turkish offensive forces were neutralized through two organized counterattacks. "So-called elite Turkish battalions faced a powerful counterstrike and were thrown into panic. The defeated Turkish army, soaked in the blood of its own citizens, was forced to withdraw," the HPG statement said.
The source noted that the Gara region has been subjected to Turkish military attacks regularly since February 10.
It should be noted that Turkey has been conducting a military operation named "Operation Claw - 2" in the Kurdish-populated region known as Iraqi Kurdistan since February 10, which the Turkish side claims is aimed at combating terrorism.
