US Senate Acquits Donald Trump: Votes for Impeachment Not Sufficient
Former US President Donald Trump has characterized the impeachment process against him in the US Senate as another phase of a "witch hunt."
The American Senate has acquitted Republican Donald Trump in the case of his impeachment. To impeach Trump, a majority vote of 67 out of 100 senators was required. A total of 57 senators voted in favor of impeachment, while 43 voted against, resulting in an insufficient number of votes for the measure to proceed.
