Turkey Has Been Advised Not to Dream of Crimea
Ankara must give up its dreams of territories that belong to Russia, which Turkish media report are intended to become part of Turkey by 2050. According to RIA Novosti, this opinion was expressed by Yuri Gempel, the chairman of the Crimean Parliament's Committee on Public Diplomacy and Interethnic Relations.
He stated that "such immense appetite could even lead to an explosion." The committee head noted that Turkish claims appear ridiculous. He also recalled that when the Crimean Peninsula was a part of Crimea, Turkey was actively importing propaganda into the peninsula.
"Now Crimea is a legal part of Russia. Russia is not Ukraine; backstage games with it will not work," Gempel emphasized.
Earlier, the Turkish channel TRT1 displayed a map for the year 2050, which depicted territories of other countries located between Russia and Turkey. These territories included Crimea and Sevastopol from Russia, as well as the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Saratov, Samara regions, Chuvashia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Adygea, and North Ossetia.
It is noteworthy that a referendum was held in Crimea in March 2014, after which the peninsula became part of Russia, and Sevastopol was designated as a federal city.
