Russian Peacekeepers Clear Martuni Region of Unexploded Ordnance
Experts from the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Defense Ministry have completed demining operations in the Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh. This information was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
During the demining operations, Russian peacekeepers used modern robotic systems such as the Uran-6, which ensures the safety of personnel while working with explosive materials and allows for demining regardless of weather conditions.
According to the report, with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, work continues to restore vital engineering communications in areas affected by the war. Since November 23, 2020, the engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have cleared 1,358.3 hectares of land, including more than 425 kilometers of roads, 1,292 residential buildings, and 29 facilities of social significance. Approximately 24,300 unexploded ordnance have been discovered.
