Atomic Power Plant in Metsamor Not Affected by Earthquake Recorded in Armenia Today

The atomic power plant in Metsamor has not been affected by the earthquake recorded in Armenia today. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the press secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Anna Baghdasaryan.
“We have contacted the nuclear power plant; everything is fine. There is no need to worry,” she said.
It is noteworthy that the earthquake was also felt in the Armavir region, including the city of Metsamor, where the power plant is located.
Currently, the nuclear power plant is in active operational status. The shutdown for modernization work is planned for May 2021 and will last for about 140 days.
