72 Civilians Killed and 163 Injured Between September 27, 2020, and January 28, 2021, Reports Armenian Human Rights Defender
As a result of the war, approximately 40,000 people have become homeless, losing their homes, personal belongings, and the basic conditions for living and other rights. This was stated by Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, on his Facebook page.
“Important facts regarding the gross violations of the rights of peaceful residents during the September-November 2020 war unleashed by Azerbaijan: During the war, more than 100,000 peaceful residents were displaced from their permanent, homeland residences. As a result of the war, around 40,000 people have become homeless, losing their homes, personal belongings, and the fundamental conditions for living and other rights,” he noted.
Due to the attacks by Azerbaijani armed forces, around 30,000 children of school and kindergarten age were deprived of education during the war. A total of 12 kindergartens and 71 schools were damaged or destroyed.
From September 27, 2020, to January 28, 2021, 72 civilians were killed. A total of 163 peaceful residents were injured, with some acquiring disabilities. These figures are according to reports from the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh.
