Video: A Participant of the Protest by Families of the Missing Struck a Police Officer with a Bottle
A commotion and scuffle broke out between participants of a protest by families of missing soldiers and police at the end of the demonstration. According to the correspondent of Sputnik Armenia on the scene, the commotion was triggered when one of the protest participants struck a police officer with a bottle in the area of Republic Square.
The incident occurred after the participants announced the conclusion of the protest and opened the segment leading from Tigran Mets Street to Republic Square in Yerevan.
Following this, the police attempted to detain the citizen who had thrown the bottle at the officer, which was met with a strong reaction from other participants of the protest. As a result, a scuffle and tussle ensued between the citizens and the police.
Earlier, we reported that a significant number of police forces had gathered at the location. Traffic in the aforementioned area is gradually being restored.
It should be noted that the relatives of the missing individuals had been protesting in front of the government building since early morning, and they had also brought the children of the soldiers with them.
