Turkish Air Force Attacks Kurdish Areas in Iraq and Syria

On February 10, the Turkish Air Force bombarded the Gare region of Dohuk province in Iraqi Kurdistan (autonomous Kurdish region of Northern Iraq), according to ermenihaber.

The nighttime assault began with fighter jets and Kobra-type attack helicopters. Later, the Turkish air force carried out an air drop in an area adjacent to Gare. After retaliatory fire from Kurdish militants, the Turkish helicopters were forced to leave the area.

According to Kurdish sources, battles between Kurdish militants and Turkish forces continued throughout the day on February 10.

Earlier, the Turkish Air Force bombed six Kurdish villages in the Manbij region of Syria. The press service of the Manbij Military Council reported that forces supported by Turkey attacked military targets in the northeastern Al Jath village of Manbij, but were repelled.
