More than 30km of road where the driver passes by Armenian, Russian, and Azerbaijani flags: Gevorg Tosiunyan

Journalist Gevorg Tosiunyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Some sections of the road from Goris to Shurnukh pass through territories under Azerbaijan's control. Initially, the driver is stopped by Armenian border guards, who take their phone number, and then the first sign that we see is Russian, while on both sides of the road, we come across blue signs with Azerbaijani writing. At one point, there is also a banner welcoming us to Azerbaijan, although there are no Azerbaijanis present. Before reaching Vorotan, we see Azerbaijani and Russian signs side by side. An Azerbaijani serviceman stands on the left side of the road behind a net fence, armed, monitoring the coming and going of vehicles. It seems that this specific section of the duty has been deliberately selected to be visible to those passing through. No one stopped us on the road. The approximate 10-kilometer stretch from Shurnukh to Karmrakar also enters areas under Azerbaijan’s control at certain points. In total, the driver travels more than 30 kilometers alongside Armenian, Russian, and Azerbaijani flags, occasionally stepping into Azerbaijani territory and then back into Armenian.”

The Unified Information Center of Armenia informs that permission could not be obtained for this image, as the depicted area is under the control of the Azerbaijani National Security Service.
