Human Rights Defender Presents Issue of Immediate Return of Prisoners to Ukrainian Ambassador
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Armenia, Ivan Kuleba, on February 10. This was reported by the Defender's office.
Arman Tatoyan emphasized the urgency of the return of prisoners held in Azerbaijan and stated that this should be viewed exclusively within the framework of human rights and humanitarian processes as a global requirement for immediate action.
The Defender noted that Azerbaijani authorities artificially prolong the process and politicize it, intending to inflict mental suffering, exploit the situation, and create tensions.
The importance of cooperation with Ukraine's Commissioner for Human Rights of the Supreme Council in promoting the protection of human rights was highlighted during the meeting.
The parties agreed to deepen their cooperation on human rights protection issues.
