All Funds Donated During the War Served Their Intended Purposes, Says Deputy Prime Minister
All funds donated during the war have served their intended purposes. This was stated today in the National Assembly during the question-and-answer session with the government by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, in response to a question from National Assembly Vice-President Alen Simonyan regarding the fate of the funds transferred to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund during wartime.
"It is evident that if we talk about the purposes, a more direct, logical purpose within which the transfer of funds was made to the state budget is clear," he said. According to Mher Grigoryan, the most transparent, accountable system regarding both the purpose and the amount of funds used is part of the state budget's expenditure component. "We will present reports on these funds in accordance with the law, within the framework of the budgetary process and the budget reporting," he stated.
Attention was also drawn to the efficiency of state expenditures. According to MP Sophia Hovsepyan, an instruction has been issued to reduce expenditures by up to 10 percent. The MP asked whether reductions would be made across all sectors. "There is no such instruction. This process is not instructed within a percentage framework; rather, a framework has been determined within which, yes, the issue of expenditure efficiency should be discussed," said the Deputy Prime Minister, deeming it logical.
According to Grigoryan, the government has assessments of which expenditures in which sectors were performed poorly or not with the effectiveness that was expected last year. "Therefore, we consider organizing a discussion regarding the 10 percent framework in January-February to be a very reasonable process," said the Deputy Prime Minister. In his opinion, there are expenditures that can be reduced, and this is a normal process.
