Video: NSS Instead of Addressing Dead Bodies and Captives is Intimidating Parents and Teachers

It is very unfortunate, but it is a fact that during the announcements session, 4 speeches were related to the elections taking place in schools, and 4 of them pertained to illegal actions that harm those receiving an education. This was stated by Sofia Hovsepyan, a former member of the "My Step" faction, during the National Assembly’s announcements session.

She noted, "If we have had years of problems with political elections taking place in schools—based on political orders or political views—today the situation is the same. We have always spoken about education needing to be apolitical," while presenting the elections that took place at School No. 25 in the regional center of Shirak, Gyumri.

"In September 2020, elections were held for the director of Gyumri's School No. 25, in which a current teacher from that school and the current deputy director from School No. 9 participated. The votes were distributed 4-2, where the current teacher received 4 votes. The brother of the person who participated in the competition was a prominent representative from the regional administration. The 2 votes won over the 4, and the appointment was made by the deputy prime minister. No explanation was provided," she explained.

Hovsepyan emphasized that she had raised the issue with the prime minister, who promised her that they would be consistent, and according to Hovsepyan, the consistency has manifested itself in the fact that classes have been disrupted in that school for a week now.

"The horrifying thing is something else. It turns out that the NSS, instead of dealing with the issues of recovering bodies and captives today, is busy intimidating parents and teachers. The police are also engaged in the same issue. I call on you to stay away from the school and allow the issue of that school to be resolved within the framework of the law; otherwise, this will be yet another politicized appointment," said the deputy.
