Russian Peacekeepers Escort 28 Pilgrims from Stepanakert to Dadivank
The Russian peacekeeping forces continue to carry out their mission in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Monitoring of the situation and control over the ceasefire regime are being conducted by the Russian peacekeepers at twenty-seven observation posts on a round-the-clock basis. The ceasefire regime is being upheld along the entire contact line, reports the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Russian peacekeepers ensure the safe return of citizens to their permanent places of residence and provide humanitarian assistance to the local population. In one day, 41 refugees have returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia. Since November 14, 2020, a total of 52,351 people have returned to their former places of residence in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The engineer-sapper groups of the humanitarian demining center continue their work on landmine clearance in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. As of now, a total of 1,191.3 hectares have been cleared of unexploded munitions, more than 350 kilometers of roads, and 1,170 residential buildings, including 29 socially significant facilities. In addition, 24,181 explosive objects have been discovered and neutralized.
Recently, Russian peacekeepers escorted 28 Armenian pilgrims from Stepanakert to Dadivank.
