Roads Closed and Difficult to Navigate in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are roads closed and difficult to navigate within the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is challenging for trucks with trailers, but passable for all other vehicles. The roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to K’ari Lake are closed in the Aragatsotn province.
In the Gegharkunik province, there are patches of black ice on the roads.
As for Lars, according to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Management Department and the North Ossetia Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all vehicles, though there are around 390 trucks queued on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively using winter tires.
