Azerbaijan Files Case Against Armenia at ECHR

The government of Azerbaijan has filed a case against Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). According to Azerbaijani media reports, the lawsuit is inter-state and not submitted by individual citizens, representing the first case brought against Armenia by the country’s government.

Kamal Jafarov, a member of the Legal Policy and State Building Committee of the Milli Mejlis, stated that the case concerns violations of the rights to life, personal life, freedom of belief, property, and free movement of Azerbaijani citizens in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 adjacent areas.
