MoES: Schoolchildren Can Visit Cultural Centers with Tickets Distributed in 2020
The "School Subscription System" program continues into 2021. This year, students attending public schools will be able to visit cultural centers using subscription tickets distributed in 2020, which have not been utilized yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No new tickets will be issued to schoolchildren for 2021, according to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
It is reminded that under the program, students have the opportunity to visit three cultural institutions—museum, theater, concert hall—once each free of charge until the end of the period specified by the order. Students from grades 1 to 12 of state general education schools are eligible to participate. One additional ticket is provided for every 10 students, intended for the accompanying teacher.
Tickets can be used for both individual and group visits. It is necessary to contact the relevant institution in advance, especially before visiting a theater or concert hall, to make a reservation. The cultural institution (theater, concert hall) has the authority to determine the number of places allocated to schoolchildren as part of the program, as well as the appropriateness of student participation in a particular performance or concert, taking into account the age group.
Additionally, subscription tickets are distributed to students through schools, which must bear the school’s seal. The aim of the program is to increase students' engagement in cultural events and to foster a tradition of visiting cultural institutions, as well as to develop artistic taste and a broad worldview.
