Director of Social Security Service Prepared to Leave Office
Following the appointment of the new Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mesrop Arakelyan, significant personnel changes are underway within the ministry. We have learned that the head of the Social Security Service, Ani Amirshadyan, who was appointed during the tenure of Zarouhi Batoyan in 2019, is also preparing to leave the ministerial post.
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the new minister has decided to free the pension system from both the old staff, Deputy Minister Smbat Saikyanyan, who has been appointed as the minister's advisor with the intention of letting him go in the future, and the new staff, Ani Amirshadyan.
Perhaps the new minister’s decision played a role when he unexpectedly changed the approved decision regarding the integrated service office and attached that office to the social services.
The service will not only deal with the administration of providing pensions in the future but will also grant disability groups, assess needs for assistance, and implement employment programs.
According to our source, after quite an unpleasant discussion, Amirshadyan has matured the decision to submit her resignation, although she denies this. Ani Amirshadyan conveyed through a spokesperson that she has 'not submitted any resignation, and if such a thing occurs, she will inform about it.'
Currently, there is no candidate for the head of the social service, as it is difficult to find a person who understands pensions, disabilities, employment, and poverty alleviation simultaneously, meaning someone who is universal.
