Military Camps for Schoolchildren: New Project Open for Public Discussion
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has submitted for public discussion the regulation on "Registration of Military Sports Camps for 11th Grade Students of Educational Institutions Implementing General Educational Programs of the Republic of Armenia." The information is reported by the Ministry's press service.
This regulation defines the structure of the military sports camp, the daily schedule, material and technical resources, the program, the responsibilities of those in charge, and their functions. It also regulates the organization and conduct procedures of the camp and other legal relations.
The purpose of the military sports camp is to reinforce the knowledge acquired from the subject of "Initial Military Training" through practical means. The camp program is considered the practical and applied part of the subject program for 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grades in the NVP (National Defense Preparedness) curriculum.
Students will learn about the history of military art, tactics, tactical-physical training, firing, unit regulations, drill training, military geography, safe living practices, first aid, communication, psychological preparation, and survival fundamentals.
The camp will be attended by boys and girls studying in the 11th grade of general education schools. It will last for 12 days and will be structured based on the army unit’s accounting of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
The camps will be funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports. Citizens and stakeholder groups can submit their proposals and comments regarding the presented project until February 25 on the Unified Website for Publishing Draft Legal Acts. After that, the revised version will be submitted for government approval.
