Russia Lifts Import Restrictions on 13 Armenian Enterprises for Tomatoes
The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced that starting from February 5, it will lift the temporary import restrictions on tomatoes and peppers from 13 enterprises in the Armavir region of the Republic of Armenia. According to a report by Armenpress, the information was shared via the official website of the Russian service.
The products from these enterprises were found to be free of symptoms characteristic of the Pepino mosaic virus.
“This decision was made based on data received from the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia. Import is now permitted for these 13 enterprises,” the statement noted.
Since December 14, 2020, the import of tomatoes and peppers from the Armavir region had been prohibited due to the discovery of the Pepino mosaic virus.
