Shooting in Sari Tagh: 17 Shells Fired from a Submachine Gun Found at the Scene

On February 2, shots were fired in Yerevan. Around 11:30 PM, the Yerevan City Police Department's operational management center received a report that gunfire had been heard on 27th Street in Sari Tagh, according to shamshyan.com.

Police determined that the shots were fired near house number 41 on the specified street, resulting in damage to a gas pipeline owned by Gazprom Armenia's Yerevan Gas Distribution Network. Police officers promptly arrived at the scene, along with the staff of Yerevan Gas Distribution Network led by General Director Garnik Movsisyan.

The police discovered 17 fired 5.45 mm caliber shells from a submachine gun at the scene. Investigative materials are being prepared regarding the incident, and an examination has been appointed.

According to sources, the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan City Police and the police department of Erebuni already know the identity of the shooter and are taking necessary measures to locate both him and the submachine gun.

To repair the damaged gas pipeline, Yerevan Gas Distribution Network employees have been working overnight, led by Levon Torgomyan, a specialist from the economic security department.
