Economy Minister Caught in New Scandal

Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan has been in office for two months, but he has already found himself at the center of several scandals. 168.am reported that he was intoxicated during a visit to Iran and as a result, was unable to attend a scheduled meeting the next day. It turns out this was not the only scandal from his trip to Iran. Upon returning, at the Zvartnots International Airport, he refused to take a coronavirus test despite the presence of nearly ten laboratories operating in the area.

According to Armenian legislation, if a citizen refuses to take a coronavirus test at the airport upon returning to Armenia, they must be transferred to Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital, where they are required to take the test and self-isolate until the results are known, which typically takes at least 6-12 hours. This protocol was not followed in Kerobyan’s case.

Members of the parliamentary hall were surprised by the minister’s behavior, questioning why he was causing a stir by refusing to comply with a government decision of which he is a member. We reached out to Vahan Kerobyan, who listened attentively to the question, paused, and responded that he does not answer our questions. When we inquired about the reason, he did not provide any explanation.

This is reported by the newspaper “Hraparak.”
