Tattooed Sphynx Cat Gains Internet Fame, Owner Accused of Cruelty
A Sphynx cat named Yasha, living in Ukraine, has become a focal point of intense discussions online due to a tattoo made by its owner. The situation has sparked outrage among animal lovers on the internet.
According to odditycentral.com, although the tattoo on the cat is not a new phenomenon, it has reignited anger among users who are concerned about animal welfare. Many have accused the cat's owner, Ukrainian fitness model Elena Ivanichkaya, of animal cruelty and are demanding accountability from local authorities.
In response to the criticism, Ivanichkaya defended herself, stating that she consulted with a veterinarian prior to tattooing the cat and that the vet was present throughout the process. Furthermore, she claims that Yasha felt no pain either before or after the tattooing procedure.
Despite the continuous backlash, she has not removed any photos or videos of Yasha from her Instagram and the number of Yasha's images continues to grow daily.
It's worth noting that tattooing pets is not a completely new trend; a Russian tattoo artist tattooed his cat back in 2012, and in 2017, another case emerged in Russia where a Sphynx cat was also tattooed by its owner.
