ROADS: There Are Closed Highways in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that the Vardenyats Pass, the Goris-Sisian highway in the Syunik region, and the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and to Kʼari Lake are closed.
In the Tavush region, there is black ice in the serpentine roads of Dilijan city, as well as on the Vanadzor-Dilijan road in Lori Province, in the Shirak Province's Mantash-Alagyaz area, and in several locations in Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, and Syunik regions. In the Vayots Dzor region, the Saravan-Zanger section and the roads of the city of Jermuk are also affected by black ice.
In Syunik Province, a snowstorm is reported on the Sisian-Goris highway.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Situations Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for trucks, with about 500 trucks stranded on the Russian side.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ban on the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. This restriction does not apply to freight transport.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
