Video: Residents Hand Over Machine Guns, Rifles, and Grenades to Police Departments

As a result of the explanations provided by the criminal investigation officers of the Mush police department, a woman living in Gyumri brought a machine gun without a factory number, a submachine gun magazine, and 30 rounds of 5.45 mm ammunition to the police station, which she claimed belonged to her deceased husband.

According to the Armenian police, through the joint explanatory work of the officers from the Mush neighborhood police and the Gyumri police response group, another resident of Gyumri voluntarily surrendered various types of grenades with their detonators and more than 40 rounds of ammunition of different calibers.

The explanatory work conducted by the police departments of Acharkut and Amasia was also effective. A resident of the village of Marmarashen voluntarily handed over a submachine gun without a factory number, magazines for the submachine gun, an F-1 type grenade, and over 100 rounds of ammunition to the Acharkut police.

A 35-year-old man also voluntarily surrendered a grenade with a detonator and more than 60 rounds of 5.45 mm ammunition to the Amasia police.

As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the police department of the Lori region in Bazum, a resident of Vanadzor voluntarily handed over a submachine gun and radio communication devices.

A resident of the village of Mets Ayrum voluntarily handed over an F-1 type grenade with a detonator and 15 rounds of different calibers to the Tumanyan police department.

Cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held firearms and ammunition were also registered in the police departments of the Tavush regional administration in Noyemberyan, Ijevan, Tavush, and Dilijan. Residents of the region voluntarily surrendered a homemade pistol, various types of rifles, submachine gun magazines, a grenade with a detonator, and over 80 rounds of different firearms and calibers.

Similar cases of voluntary surrender of illegally held firearms and ammunition have also been reported in the police departments of the Armavir regional administration in Metsamor and Vagharshapat. A man living in Aknaalich brought his deceased brother’s double-barreled shotgun, a grenade with a detonator, and over 50 rounds of various calibers to the Metsamor police.

A woman living in Parakar also brought the landmines of her deceased husband, a grenade, the detonators of the grenade, and over 70 rounds of various calibers, which she found in the basement, to the Vagharshapat police.

Thanks to the actions of Martuni police officers, a firearm, submachine gun magazines, an F-1 type grenade with a detonator, and over 100 rounds of different firearms and calibers were voluntarily surrendered at the station.

A man living in the village of Nerkin Bazmaberd voluntarily handed over 97 rounds for a submachine gun to the Talin police department.

As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the community police and criminal investigators in Shengavit, a 50-year-old woman brought her deceased brother's submachine gun, magazines for the submachine gun, a grenade detonator, and more than 220 rounds of various calibers to the police department.

It is worth noting once again that those who voluntarily surrender illegally held firearms and ammunition are exempt from criminal liability. In this context, the explanatory work of police officers continues.
