Senior Official of the Ministry of Economy Arrested on Bribery Charges, Kerobyan

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, announced on his Facebook page: "Fresh and good news regarding corruption.

1. A senior official of the Ministry of Economy has been arrested on charges of receiving a bribe.

2. Armenia has improved its position in the Corruption Perceptions Index, managed by Transparency International, moving up from 77th to 60th place with 17 points.

Today, during a meeting with my colleagues from the Ministry of Economy, I emphasized that we have a zero tolerance policy towards corruption in our environment. This, by the way, is one of Armenia's greatest regional competitive advantages."
