Samvel Karapetyan Ranks Second in Forbes' 'Russian Real Estate Kings' Rating

The name of Samvel Karapetyan, owner of the Tashir Group of Companies, has appeared in the Forbes rating of 'Russian Real Estate Kings - 2021'. The incomes of those included in the list decreased by 24% last year, with the hardest-hit owners being those of hotels and shopping centers.

The ranking is led by God Nisanov and Zarakh Iliev, whose company 'Kievskaya Ploshchad' earned more than $1.2 billion through leasing.

In second place is Samvel Karapetyan's Tashir Group, which owns 67 properties in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi. Major assets include the Rio shopping center, the Kvartal West International Financial Corporation (IFC), and Novotel Moscow City. The revenue from leasing amounted to $585 million.

It is noted that in 2020, Tashir opened three properties: the 'Kvartal West' IFC in Moscow, the 'Family Room' furniture center in Arkhangelsk, and the 'SK Plaza' shopping and office center in Kaluga.

In third place is the Safmar Group, led by brothers Mikhail and Sait Salam Gutsiriev, who earned approximately $460 million through leasing last year.
