Arman Tatoyan: Azerbaijani President Continues to Speak in Terms of Genocidal Threats Against the Armenian People
The Artsakh region of Hadrut has always had a significant Armenian population, and even when the Republic of Azerbaijan was formed and Hadrut was included in that republic, Armenians continued to make up the majority there. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan during a ceremony dedicated to the establishment of the public organization "Hadrut Deoccupation."
"It is no coincidence that Hadrut is considered an open-air museum. Unfortunately, Hadrut has currently been depopulated and is under Azerbaijani control, but it is evident that this war, this depopulation was the result of ethnic cleansing," Tatoyan noted, recalling the targeted shelling of peaceful communities by Azerbaijan since the beginning of the war, the use of mercenaries, the intense hate speech against Armenians, and the language of genocidal threats.
"To this day, the Azerbaijani president continues to speak about the entire Armenian people in terms of genocidal threats and war threats, seizing every opportunity to insult the dignity of the Armenian people," he said.
Arman Tatoyan emphasized that the war crimes that occurred against our compatriots in Hadrut were not isolated offenses committed by certain military personnel but rather parts of a unified state policy and a single chain. "Therefore, these war crimes can never be separated from the ongoing political policy. This is compounded by the policy of isolating Artsakh from the rest of the world," stated the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
