Abovyan to soon have a new sports stadium: FAF

The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) plans to begin construction of a new city stadium in Abovyan. The renovation project is ready, according to a statement from the FFA press service.

"A new grass cover will be installed, the stadium's stands and locker room areas will be renovated, and the adjacent areas will be improved. Additionally, a small training pitch will be built. According to the new design, the eastern stand will feature a roof. Plans also include the installation of lighting in the future," the statement said.

Once commissioned, the stadium will meet UEFA’s second category standards. This means that it will be possible to host matches not only for the Armenian Premier League but also for international competitions, particularly matches in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualifying rounds (up to the second round), as well as games involving the Armenian youth and junior national teams.
