Aronian is 5th in FIDE Rankings and Still Competes Under Armenia's Flag

Grandmaster Levon Aronian has advanced one position in the FIDE ranking table. According to Armenpress, in the March ranking list, Aronian is 5th. Last month, he occupied the 6th position.

Although just days ago, Aronian announced that he is leaving Armenia, he still represents Armenia in the FIDE ranking list.

Among other grandmasters representing Armenia, Gabriel Sargsyan is in 54th place, while Hrant Melkumyan holds the 77th position.

The top of the ranking table is led by the reigning world champion, Norwegian Magnus Carlsen. The second place is occupied by Fabiano Caruana from the USA, and the trio is concluded by Ding Liren.
