Weekend Quarantine to Be Implemented in Georgia

After the resumption of shop operations and public transport, Georgia will implement a "weekend quarantine" in Tbilisi, Batumi, Gori, Telavi, Poti, and Zugdidi, reports Novosti Georgia.

This was announced by Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze. According to her, it is important for the movement of people to be limited on two days of the week due to the epidemiological situation.

She mentioned that based on the practices of various countries, the decision has been made to impose restrictions on two days of the week, which do not necessarily have to be Saturday and Sunday.

Starting February 1, Georgia will lift a number of restrictions that had been in place since October 28, allowing all businesses to operate, not just grocery stores and shopping centers.

Georgia has also decided to resume regular flights that were suspended in March 2020.
