New Tools of Russian 'Soft Power' in Armenia. 'Pasta'
Although the Republic of Armenia is considered a strategic ally of the Russian Federation, and the two countries are linked by centuries-old strong ties, there has been a clear decline in Russian-oriented and pro-Russian sentiments in Armenia in recent times. Conversely, trends of increasing anti-Russian sentiments have been observed, especially since the change of power in 2018.
There has been much discussion about how the West employs various technologies and PR tools in countries it considers its area of interest, in other words, implementing a 'soft power' policy.
According to sources from the newspaper, in the coming months, the process of applying Russian 'soft power' in Armenia is expected to grow sharply, utilizing new tools. Our source close to high-ranking Russian circles has indicated that the Russian political leadership has decided to significantly revise its policy in the region and specifically plans to implement new projects in Armenia.
In particular, we have been informed that pro-Russian platforms will increase in the Armenian informational space, which will not hide their true mission. The idea of implementing Russian-language television projects, including talk shows and video bridges, is also still in its embryonic stage and not confirmed.
On the other hand, according to our sources, much larger projects are planned in the cultural and educational field. We have information that well-known circles with Western funding are also aware of this, which has simply thrown them off balance, and this is also the reason why they have recently intensified their anti-Russian propaganda.
