Fatal Hit-and-Run in Lori Region

On January 26, a fatal hit-and-run occurred in the Lori region. At around 19:00, a 63-year-old resident of the village of Odzun, Ashot D., while attempting to overtake another vehicle on the outskirts of Odzun village near the bends, struck a fellow villager, 56-year-old Marine G. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the victim died at the scene.

Police and investigators did not locate the vehicle involved at the accident site. Following operational-search measures and subsequent explanatory work, the suspect Ashot D. voluntarily appeared at the Tumanyan police department, reporting that he was the one who caused the hit-and-run with the mentioned vehicle.
