Black Ice Reported on Roads; Difficult Conditions Announced by Ministry of Emergency Situations

The territory of the Republic of Armenia has closed and difficult-to-navigate roads. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

"The roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed," the statement noted.

The Vardenyats pass and the Goris-Sisian road in the Syunik region are difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers.

In the Vayots Dzor region, there is black ice in some areas of the Jermuk-Saravan-'Zanger' route, while in all roads of the Syunik region, black ice is also reported.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles; however, on the Russian side, about 600 trucks are currently stranded.

According to the information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the ban on the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transportation.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
