Aliyev: We Know Their Number, Azerbaijanis Killed Hundreds of Armenians Involved in the Defense of Shushi
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev commented on the appointment of Aydin Kermov as his special representative in the Shushi region, reflecting on the battles for Shushi during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. According to minval.az, Aliyev stated that hundreds of Armenians were killed during the Shushi operation.
“We know their number. No matter how much the leadership of Armenia tries to hide this from its people, it will not succeed,” said Aliyev, adding that the Azerbaijani side killed hundreds of Armenians involved in the defense of Shushi.
It is noteworthy that on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. A declaration was signed, according to which seven regions of Artsakh, including Shushi and Hadrut, were ceded to Azerbaijan, excluding one village, as well as the villages of Askeran and Martuni regions, along with the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region.
