Which Students' Tuition Fees Will Be Compensated at Artsakh State University?

The Artsakh government plans to allocate approximately 500 million drams for the reimbursement of tuition fees for students at Artsakh State University, as part of the 2021 state budget. This marks an increase from last year's 238 million drams, as reported by Mikael Hambardzumyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Artsakh, in an interview with Armenpress.

According to the pre-election program of the President of Artsakh, the government has been reimbursing tuition fees since the last academic year. The allocation in this year's budget has doubled, taking into account the need to reimburse tuition fees for both last year's students and this year's students, as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the recent Artsakh war, the injured, and the displaced.

Currently, there are approximately 2,000 students enrolled in both full-time and distance learning programs at Artsakh State University. With the financial resources provided in the state budget, it will be possible to almost completely cover the tuition fee reimbursements for all students. Additionally, there are charitable organizations that will also cover the tuition fees for some groups of students for one or two semesters. Previously established state programs for tuition fee refunds are also still in effect. Thus, almost no student will be left without tuition fee reimbursement,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Artsakh.
