Again I Propose, Call Biden. Suren Sargsyan to Pashinyan
International expert Suren Sargsyan has addressed Nikol Pashinyan via a Facebook post, suggesting several steps that the Prime Minister could take regarding relations with the United States. The post reads:
“Again I propose, call Biden...
- Congratulate him:
- If you cannot shape a political agenda, create an economic agenda: Propose economic projects (I have mentioned the types a thousand times). Promise that American investments in Armenia will not be suppressed.
- Offer technical assistance for a possible Iran-US summit (the Azerbaijanis are already fidgeting).
- Confirm that you will not start a dialogue with Turkey before April 24 (this would hinder the recognition issue for him; this is the Turkish strategy to cancel any possible recognition by referring to dialogue).
- Request to organize the return of at least 10-15 prisoners of war under his sponsorship. He won’t refuse; such a humanitarian action is also needed for him. Aliyev won’t refuse him either; he can’t.
- Express gratitude for the position regarding Resolution 907 (the rest they will understand).
- Raise the issue of the “Millennium Challenge”. We already meet the components (due to poor economic indicators).
- Finally, explain (not for us, at least for him) what you want and are doing regarding the Artsakh issue: since November 8, I have been proposing…”
